Thirty Years African Development Bank

Organisation, Structures, Project Policy

At 30, the Bank stands at the crossroads. A failed project policy, infighting among management and shareholders and above all, last year's dangerous level of payments delinquency bode ill for the Bank's future. This study's author assumes that a fundamental reform of the Bank is not only desirable but, essential for the African continent which needs a self-sufficient pan-African development organisation as a motor for regional cooperation and integration.

For the first time approximately 30 NGOs met at the invitation pof the Bank at its annual general meeting in Nairobi. The information deficit among those attending was impossible to ignore.
