Webinar: "Caste, Capital & Power - Critical perspectives around the World Economic Forum"

We are excited that on 1st December we will have a conversation on "Caste, Capital & Power" together with Minee and Paul - both activists for Dalit and Human rights.

Struggling against the caste system that has been in place in many countries across the world since centuries and reproduced itself through different regimes. It separates and exploits people based on work and descent. Minee's scholarly work focuses on tracing the life trajectories of Dalit refugees who migrated from Pakistan to India during and after partition in 1947. As an activist she has been involved in multiple Dalit feminist struggles throughout her life. Whereas Paul has been advocating for the inclusion of marginalized communities within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), ensuring their voices are heard in the global policy realm. He carries both knowledge and true commitment building his legacy of his decade long fight for justice from the local south Indian context to the global arena shoulder on shoulder with the most marginalized.

We will be learning more about the anti-caste struggle of Dalit and Bahujan communities and the fight for a just world. In our conversation we will shed light on the connections between the world economic forum (WEF) and Dalit rights and the rights of communities discriminated on work and descent. Which will inevitably bring us to discuss how global capitalism and the rise of global authoritarianism is increasing hate and hardship while there are movements organizing people to rise up for new politics and a world of social justice and real inclusion. Tell your friends and comrades and bring your questions!
